Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Business Development Operations Senior Manager to join our Space Sector Business Development team. The Business Development Operations Senior Manager position requires a strong leader with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment across all levels of the organization. Reporting to the sector Vice President of Business Development, this role interacts with all levels of the organization to maintain technical and programmatic situational awareness of the business and support the Sector BD leadership team.

The preferred location for the role is McLean, VA; however, the followings Space Systems sites are also available:

Responsibilities of the position will include but are not limited to:

General

  • Serve as the single face of Sector Business Development to all Business Operations points of contact within the Divisions and Corporate by building strong positive relationships with both peers and executives.

  • Manage the coordination of Sector-level business development reviews, ensuring alignment for correct attendees, timely generation and review of presentation materials, and coordinating meeting logistics in both classified and unclassified environments.

  • Review Sector-level business development presentation content for completeness and adherence to presentation standards appropriately aligned with the audience and meeting type.

  • Manage Sector-level business development operations rhythms and reporting, coordinating with both Division and Corporate, and ensuring clear communication of expectations and timelines.

  • Manage Sector Business Development actions, providing timely reporting of status and closure.

  • Manage the Sector Business Development budget, providing timely tracking of budget status, budget forecasting, and reporting of budget variances.

  • Drive the execution of business development operations initiatives and projects initiated by sector business development and operations leadership by working across the organization.

  • Ensure leadership preparation for all meetings and events with data collection, talking points, presentation materials, and logistical support.

  • Manage the Sector BD Operations team; to include professional growth and performance.

Key Deliverables: Clear and open communication with BD operations counterparts within and beyond Sector; clear and organized operational business rhythms; sustained positive relationships across the organization; lead and sustain a high performing team; team mentorship and development.

Pipeline Management and Administration

  • Act as a Space Sector Salesforce subject matter expert for sector pipeline tools, to include Salesforce, CRM Analytics, Tableau, and others.

  • Lead the Space Sector Salesforce Working Group and act as a liaison to the enterprise Salesforce Product Committee.

  • Ensure the development, integration and delivery of operations data, business development reporting requirements, including reports and visuals to executive leadership as well as the integration of dashboards, metrics, and Salesforce pipeline and customer engagement data.

  • Develop creative and innovative methods of visualizing and automating data from the Salesforce pipeline tool by maintaining existing and developing new Salesforce and Tableau Dashboards.

  • Design, tailor, and deliver pipeline tool training in various formats.

  • Coordinate the development of functional business requirements and develop user stories for Agile development spins, working closely with corporate, sector, division, CIO, and DTO.

Key Deliverables: Pipeline data fidelity; executive-level pipeline visualizations; pipeline health analysis; recommendations for leadership priorities and actions; creation and distribution of readahead materials; knowledge management, and pipeline administration and training for the NGSP Business Development team.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

  • Develop best practices for CRM within Salesforce, involving close collaboration with the Customer Engagement team, driving CRM data fidelity.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and other visuals.

Key Deliverables: Customer Engagement / CRM data fidelity; tradeshow process support; CRM metrics and insights to drive improvement on customer engagements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of related professional/military experience as defined below; or a Master’s degree and 8 years of related experience as defined below

  • Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance at the time of the application.

  • Related experience includes experience in business development, engineering, operations, finance, program management, or project management

  • Experience leading a team

  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace and/or the defense industries

  • Effective verbal and written communication

  • Experience with data analysis and executive level reporting/presentation/presence

  • Experience with Salesforce

  • Demonstrated positive rapport and relationships as a trusted advisor

  • Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

  • Willingness to travel up to 20%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Northrop Grumman Business Acquisition Process (BAP)

  • Experience working in business development or capture roles

  • Experience with LX, SharePoint, S-Docs, and Tableau

  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks and projects within critical deadlines

  • Strong data analytic capability and attention to detail and accuracy

Salary Range: $170,000 - $255,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
