Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

The Executive Director, IT Modernization will develop, plan, and implement an information technology modernization (ITM) strategy that meets the company’s business needs, delivers optimal return on investment, and maintains utmost security.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervisory Responsibilities:

+ + Oversees significant IT modernization projects within the Information Systems (IS) department.

  • Leads efficient operation of the team so that modernization activities of IS are performed, on budget and on schedule.

  • Conducts performance evaluations of the team that are timely and constructive.

    Responsibilities:

    • Successfully develops and implements the IT modernization strategy for V2X.
  • Collaborates with members of the IT Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to identify ways IT can drive achievement of business and financial goals.

    • Identifies new IS developments and technologies; anticipates resulting organizational modifications.
  • Ensures that IT and network infrastructure adequately supports the company’s computing, data processing, and communications needs.

  • Develops and implements the IT modernization budget

  • Communicates goals, projects, and timelines of the company to the department; plans ways to execute those goals within the department.

  • Establishes long-term IS needs and plans and develops strategies for developing systems and acquiring software and hardware necessary to meet those needs.

  • Assists as top-level contact for end users in determining IS requirements and/or solutions.

  • Ensures compliance with government regulations that apply to systems operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Information Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.

  • Experience:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in the administration of information systems and technology, with increasing level of responsibility throughout.

  • Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.

  • Demonstrated leadership of large, complex, multi-business IT system rationalization and transformation efforts.

  • Program management experience, including responsibility for cost, schedule and risk management.

  • Experienced in managing IT operations with NIST/DFARS requirements.

  • Demonstrated success in leading the development of effective business cases.

  • Proficient in integrating IT systems from multiple company subsidiaries.

  • Other Requirements:

  • United States citizenship required.

  • Ability to travel to company and/or client sites up to 20%.

  • Secret security clearance or ability to obtain a security clearance required.

    Desired Qualifications

  • Education:

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Certifications/Licenses:

  • Certified Cloud Security Professional

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional

  • Certified System Administrator (Microsoft for example)

  • Certified System Engineer (Microsoft for example)

  • Program Management Professional

  • Certified Solutions Architect (AWS for example)

  • Certified Enterprise Architect

  • Experience:

  • IT leadership experience in a global, publicly traded company with annual review greater than $1B desired

  • Experience leading an IT organization through implementation and management of industry certifications, including, but not limited to: ISO 20000, ISO 27001, CMMC preferred.

  • Experience performing as a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) preferred.

  • Other Requirements:

  • Top Secret security clearance desired.

  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of budgeting, cost management, and financial forecasting to manage IT investments and demonstrate the Return on Investment (ROI) of modernization projects.

  • Change Management: Skilled in managing and guiding organizational change, including stakeholder engagement and communication strategies.

  • Risk Management: Able to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with IT modernization projects, including security, compliance, and operational risks.

  • Vendor Management: Expertise in evaluating, selecting, and managing relationships with technology vendors and service providers.

  • Project Management: Proficiency in leading complex IT projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing, while ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Innovation Management: Capability to drive and manage innovation within the IT function, staying ahead of technological trends and leveraging emerging technologies.

  • Operational Efficiency: Understanding of how to streamline IT operations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.

  • Customer Focus: Able to understand and address the needs of internal and external customers, ensuring IT solutions deliver value and improve user experience.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards affecting IT, such as data protection laws and Aerospace and Defense industry-specific requirements.

  • Business Partner/Effective Communicator:

  • Excellent communicator, both orally and in writing, including ability to facilitate effective collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and develop consensus and drive all organizations to achieve quality goals.

  • Interfaces comfortably and effectively with a wide range of team members to include executive leadership.

  • Able to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner.

  • Possesses compelling presentation skills to communicate information and ideas, with and for executive leadership.
