Description

We are looking for a dedicated and meticulous Junior Staff Accountant to join our team in McLean, Virginia. As a Junior Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and recording journal entries, preparing cash reconciliations, and preparing monthly balance sheet and income statement reports. You will also be responsible for resolving trade exceptions on a daily basis and assisting in the preparation of annual financial statements.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with accounting standards

• Conduct cash reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy

• Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement reports for management review

• Resolve trade exceptions on a daily basis through prompt follow-up with trading counterparties and custodians

• Participate in Net Asset Value (NAV) reporting and reconciliation

• Update trades, valuations, and journals in the fund accounting system as required

• Assist in the preparation of the annual financial statements, schedules, and ad hoc requests related to the annual audit of the financial statements

• Take responsibility for trade entry and reconciliation

• Handle corporate action processing as necessary

• Establish, modify, and document accounting procedures to enhance efficiency

• Perform other duties as required, which may include accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), bank reconciliations, general ledger management, journal entries, month-end close, and working with different accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.

Requirements

• Possess a degree in Accounting or a related field

• Demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proficiency in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Ability to manage General Ledger

• Skilled in making Journal Entries

• Experience in Month End Close procedures

• Knowledge and experience in using NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively

• Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases

• Ability to manipulate large amounts of data

• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to direct and supervise.
