Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manager of Strategy & Business Development 3 for a Strategy Development role to join the Weapon Systems (WS) division business development team. This position will be located at any of the primary Weapon Systems Division locations, including: Linthicum Heights, MD, McLean, VA, Northridge, CA, Plymouth, MN, Rocket Center, WV or Elkton, MD. This position will report to the Director of Strategy for the Weapon Systems (WS) division. The qualified applicant will support division strategic planning activities, long-term growth, and portfolio management in close collaboration with Sector, Division, and Business Unit leadership teams.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support the business unit and profit & loss (P&L) leaders to achieve near-term and long-term growth targets

  • Develop and communicate a strategic vision to drive enduring growth for the Weapon Systems (WS) division

  • Ensure division and business unit resources – including financial and talent – are aligned to growth strategy

  • Lead the division in annual strategic planning efforts in collaboration with sector and corporate counterparts

  • Support the NG enterprise campaigns and represent the WS equities to corporate strategic planning

  • Deliver timely and actionable analysis on customer priorities, markets, competitors, budgets, and inorganic growth evaluations that align to the division growth strategy

  • Interface directly with senior leadership to offer strategic perspective and deliver time-sensitive projects on an as-needed basis

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 12 years of related experience

  • 6+ years of work experience in the defense/aerospace business or national security enterprise

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work across different levels of an organization

  • Takes initiative and solves ambiguous strategic problems with minimal guidance

  • Demonstrated experience to influence and build consensus

  • Ability to manage simultaneous projects and rapidly reprioritize as needed

  • Superior communications skills (written, verbal and presentation) and ability to interface at executive levels

  • Exceptional analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills

  • Talent in integrating disparate information into a concise actionable strategic recommendation

  • Extensive experience developing executive briefings and presenting to executive leadership teams

  • Active Secret Clearance, for which US citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field and 7+ years of work experience in the defense/aerospace business or national security enterprise

  • Prior experience in defense industrial base strategic planning, business development, and senior engagement

  • Prior experience in the global weapons market, including an understanding of key systems, competitors, and environmental trends in tactical missiles, land warfare, and munitions

  • Prior experience or education in foreign affairs, international security, and US national security priorities

  • Active Top Secret / SCI Clearance

Salary Range: $141,900 - $246,500

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
