About this role:

​Capital One’s Enterprise Data Product organization is seeking a dynamic and versatile professional to join our team as a junior Chief of Staff. This role is tailored for a high-potential individual eager to immerse themselves in the heart of our operations, learn rapidly, and contribute to key strategic operational initiatives across Enterprise Data. Ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced learning environment, this position offers a unique opportunity to gain extensive exposure to executive leadership to hone your problem-solving, partnership-building, and strategic thinking skills.

In this role, you will act as a catalyst for change and innovation, working directly under the guidance of more senior Chief of staff and other top executives. You will leverage data to drive improvements in effectiveness and efficiency across our operational routines and ensure Enterprise Data is effectively staffed against our priorities with an organizational structure that supports our strategic goals.

As Chief of Staff, you will:

  • Own Strategic Workforce Planning: Own product labor planning and partner with tech and design to drive alignment across the organization, ensuring the right talent is in place to meet current and future business needs.

  • Ensure accurate organizational data reporting: Partner with Finance, Recruiting, and Tech/Design teams to support accurate data on current staffing allocation & future staffing plans, track net new hiring progress, geo strategy, management spans and layers, etc

  • Optimize Recruiting Prioritization : Collaborate with leaders to prioritize recruiting efforts, focusing on critical roles that drive business impact, and ensuring a healthy hiring pipeline.

  • Monitor & Improve Hiring Pipeline Health: In close partnership with recruiting, track the overall health of the hiring pipeline and interview process - identifying bottlenecks, proposing solutions, and implementing improvements

  • Coordinate with Associate Experience: Ensure a warm handoff between new hires and associate experience; gain insights from newly onboarded associates to feed improvements into the recruiting and hiring process.

  • Drive Data-Driven Solutions: Own Enterprise Data’s business operations health metrics; monitor and analyze metrics to make recommendations to drive operational excellence inclusive of our financial reviews, business reviews, and risk reviews.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong foundational skills in problem-solving, process and/or project management, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to extract insights from data.

  • Comfortable in front of senior executives, with a knack for communication and breaking down complex information into easily digestible overviews.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment and quickly put structure in place to manage the work.

  • A proactive, motivated attitude with a passion for learning and personal growth.

  • A team player attitude with a strong drive to create a positive work environment and enhance team engagement.

  • Experience with root cause analysis, process improvement, and change management is a strong plus.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or Military Experience

  • At least 2 year of experience in Process Management, Project Management or equivalent Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in business, finance or organizational development

  • Experience managing cross-functional team members, remove obstacles and influence appropriately

  • Problem Solving and Change Management training

  • Experience in Communications planning and development, including department communications, leadership team meetings, presentations, memos and reports

  • Experience in Staff management and training

  • Experience in Organizational development and performance

  • Experience in Budget management

  • Experience with Google tools (Forms, Slides, Sheets, etc)
