Senior Manager, Software Engineering, Full Stack (Enterprise Platforms Technology)

We are seeking Full Stack Software Engineers who are passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies. As a Capital One Sr. Manager Software Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.

Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) comprises many of Capital One’s most important enterprise platforms. We play an essential role in establishing practices for building technology solutions across the company, while also delivering capabilities that exemplify those practices.

As a tight-knit engineering organization member where problem-solving is approached with diverse perspectives and enthusiasm, you will lead full-stack teams and lead high-visibility enterprise impactful initiatives. You will execute design and engineering release priorities while ensuring, through strong leadership to inspire engineers to meet both their personal and organizational goals. You will lead the way with innovation, mentoring engineers, solving complex problems, always willing to lean in to deliver against initiatives, and contributing to the overall platform's vision and strategy.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices, and full stack systems to create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company

  • Oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of new and existing features.

  • Contribute to the technical vision and the long term roadmap of Enterprise Architecture tooling.

  • Partner with a cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, governance partners, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences.

  • Attract and retain top talent in the industry and nurture personal and professional development for your team. Foster a culture of learning and staying abreast of the state-of-the-art technology.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • At least 6 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)

  • At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

  • At least 4 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree

  • 9+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go

  • 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service

  • 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks

  • 7+ years of people management experience

  • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices
