JOB SUMMARY:

Receives incoming referrals from referral sources such as physician offices, hospitals, home health agency clinics and self-referrals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Receive telephone/fax requests for orders, order changes, price quotations and product information from customers and referral sources.
  2. Verifies insurance benefits with payor(s) and communicates information back to referral/patient.
  3. Obtain authorization for DME equipment per insurance guidelines.
  4. Utilize your DME checklist to ensure correct documentation is gathered and equipment is billed for properly.
  5. Utilize your processes to ensure proper ways of facilitating day to day duties.
  6. Achieve and maintain rapport with customers and referral sources, working to give them the best possible service.
  7. Work cooperatively with the medical records and reimbursement department to ensure that information required for the charts and reimbursement is complete and accurate.
  8. Communicates with branch managers regarding expected date/time that delivery is needed.
  9. On Call Duties
  10. Other duties as assigned

     

MINIMUM NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS PER HIPAA:

  1. Initial Vantage Intake Information.
  2. Delivery Schedules.

     

SOFTWARE ACCESS:

  1. Brightree
  2. EMR
  3. Insurance Websites/Portals

     

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school graduate.
  2. Experience with Medical Billing and insurance verifications
  3. Prefer minimum of one year experience in billing/intake for DME
  4. Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with medical procedures and services.
  5. Excellent communication and correspondence skills.
  6. Must be able to perform fast paced and proficient in multi-tasking
  7. Computer knowledge and solid computer skills.
  8. Ability to prioritize patient needs and to function in environment with fluctuation in workload.
  9. Attention to detail and job completion.
