Crops/Commodities: Nursery stock, including seeds, trees, grasses, dormant bioengineering material, wetland plants. This job requires a minimum of three months of verifiable prior experience working in a tree, dormant bioengineering material or wetland plant nursery, handling both manual and machine tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities. Workers must be able to perform all duties of entry level workers as well as perform additional mechanized activities with accuracy and efficiency. Workers will perform work including but not limited to planting, digging, mulching, transplanting, mowing, watering in nurseries and fields. Fertilize, spray, space, water, tag and perform other plant maintenance. Load finished plants onto wagons and trucks. Plant, dig and harvest field grown plants, perform general maintenance of field grown plants. Crops include over 200 species of native plants, dormant bioengineering materials, and wetland plants. Plants must be handled carefully to ensure that minimal leaves, limbs and roots are not broken during transplanting process.

Plants, cultivates and maintains in condition for shipping and sale to customers small shrubs, trees, dormant bioengineering material and wetland plants. Prunes, transplants, spaces, irrigates and culls plants to ensure availability of marketable products. Packs, labels, pulls and stores plants according to variety. Weeds, mows, loads/unloads trucks and wagons. May operate tractors and other mechanical equipment under supervision. Performs any other duties involved in the maintenance of plant materials and nursery stock and maintenance of holding yards and shipping areas.

In addition, workers may be required to perform variable tasks such as the following: irrigation, ditching, shoveling, hoeing, hauling, ground preparation, weeding and other tasks related to a nursery operation.
