Location Description The Meadville, Pennsylvania facility is 135,000 square feet and home to about 290 hard working team members who are proud to produce iconic pet food brands like Rachael Ray® Nutrish®. Located along the banks of French Creek in Northwestern Pennsylvania and 45 minutes from Pittsburgh, Meadville is home to more than 13,000 full time residents and 2,000 Allegheny College students. Meadville is an active center for business, industry, education, the arts, recreation, service and tourism. Conneaut Lake, Pymatuning State Park and the Erie National Wildlife Refuge are wonderful places to appreciate the area's natural beauty. Responsibilities PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Right Role for You  Are you motivated by the chance to help provide quality products consumers count on every day? Are you interested in working with a collaborative team to get the job done while learning new skills? If so, you are exactly who we are looking for to join our Company!  We are currently hiring entry-level production technicians in our Pet Food Plant.  Whether you are interested in the making of the product, working on one of our packing teams, warehousing, or quality assurance, we have a spot for you. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Manufacturing experience (preference for pet food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods)   A proven track record of good attendance and consistent performance delivering consistent safety and quality   Capability to work well in a team environment and be willing to help solve problems and implement solutions with diverse employees Must be willing to be on shift (12-hour 2-2-3 shift rotation, fixed nights) 6P/6A or 6A/6P Safely operate powered industrial equipment and follow all company Safety Rules & GMP’s Able to operate, perform basic physical activities: climbing, standing, bending, twisting, and moving around stairs, ladders, platforms, and various equipment  Capability to work well in a team environment and be willing to help solve problems and implement solutions   Must be able to effectively read, comprehend, interpret, record, and apply information from documents  Mechanical interest and operational skills Able to learn new systems, record operational data and communicate results Track quality and waste metrics Emphasis on sanitation/cleaning Ability to work occasional flexible hours and overtime based on company/volume needs Ability to stand on a concrete floor 12 hours per day Reaching, bending, and twisting frequently Willingness to flow to the work to meet the needs of the business Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge and skills necessary to meet organizational objectives) Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Necessary to perform essential functions of job with or without an accommodation) Climb ladders and bins Maneuver in tight spaces Move items of 55-80 lbs. in weight from one place to another Stack repetitiously 60 lbs. or less Able to differentiate between colors Able to work in extreme temperature conditions (very hot or very cold) Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time
