WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
CHI is looking for a full-time Child Care Worker for our Medford location. You will be responsible for planning and implementing a program to care for young children. You will ensure the development and safety of the children in accordance with relevant federal, and state policies. The ideal applicant is respectful of children and parents and will ensure that equipment and facilities are clean, safe and well maintained. This is accomplished by performing the following functions:
Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program
Provide nutritious snacks and lunches
Develop excellent activities, experiences, and programs that are culturally appropriate
Ensure equipment and the facility are clean, well maintained, and safe
Provide weekly and monthly schedules of activities
Establish policies and procedures including acceptable disciplinary policies
Be familiar with emergency procedures
Ensure supervision at all times
Create experiences and activities for children including songs, games, and story telling
Provide opportunities for sleep and rest time
Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable
Implement positive discipline when required
Keep parents informed of program expectations, program activities, and their child’s progress
WHAT DO I NEED?
Education: High School Diploma or GED. Experience in a related field preferred.
Experience: Knowledge of community resources required. One to two years experience in the child care or a related field preferred.
Certificates or Licenses: Valid driver’s license.
Insurance: Valid automobile insurance.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in English required. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, internet, and other software as required.
Math Skills: Must be excellent.
Physical Performance: Ability to tour property, walk distances, and climb stairs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to prioritize, make judgment calls, and make appropriate decisions.
Other Skills: Ability to relate to the underserved, homeless, and disabled populations. Ability to work independently or as part of a team, be highly organized, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, multitask, be flexible, and maintain a high level of attention to details. Ability to develop, plan, and implement activities.
Other Requirements: Must have reliable transportation.

Open shifts: [Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.] [Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.]
