JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Brandywine's Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Laboratory, located in the Academic Success Center, is currently seeking part-time Professional Math Tutors. Tutors assist students with improving academic achievement by providing proactive or remedial purposed non-classroom academic instruction.

Job Duties

  • Facilitate individual and small group tutoring sessions; regularly meet with assigned students to review course content and integrate effective study and learning strategies.

  • Review class material with students; discuss text and assignments; coach solutions to problems.

  • Teach study skills, note-taking skills, and test-taking strategies.

  • Maintain student assessment, progress, feedback, and performance records, ensuring confidentiality.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A required minimum of a bachelor’s degree (Master Preferred) in mathematics or related field.

    Part-time tutors work 2-4 days per week for a maximum of 20 hours per week. The opening is based at the Brandywine Campus; however, flexible work arrangements, such as remote or hybrid work opportunities, may be considered.
