Northrop Grumman IT Solutions team located in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Melbourne, FL in support of the E2/TACAMO programs.

This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Develop / deliver of the overall Information Technology (IT) technical baseline and system design, including delivery to the customer. This includes, but is not limited to, planning, design, development, integration, testing, production release to the business, operations / sustainment.

  • Interface with project managers, architects, technical specialists, customers regularly.

  • Communicate both written and verbal with a technical team and a customer team throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Ability to travel as business needs dictate.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have an active DOD Secret or higher security clearance or Active within the last 24 months and must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Further, the candidate’s clearance must be able to meet the government customer’s criteria for working on their program.

  • Experience in the System Engineering role providing written and oral presentations to customers, vendors, and technical team

  • Demonstrate strong foundational expertise in Information Technologies with subject matter expertise in one the following areas:

  1. Virtualization

  2. Data Center designs and solutions, including on-premises and co-location solutions.

  3. Data Center Backup overall design

  4. Software as a service

  5. Cloud technologies

Basic Qualifications for level 3:

  • To be considered for this position, the candidate must possess 5 years of IT Project Management, System Engineering or related IT experience with a BS degree in a STEM or Business focused discipline; also acceptable is 3 years or experience with a related Masters; or 0 years with PHD.

  • In lieu of the education requirement, 9 years of relevant IT experience with at least 4 years in System Engineering.

Basic Qualifications for level 4:

  • To be considered for this position, the candidate must possess 9 years of IT Project Management, System Engineering or related IT experience with a Bachelors degree in a STEM or Business focused discipline; also acceptable is 7 years or experience with a related Masters; or 4 years with PHD.

  • In lieu of the education requirement, 13 years of relevant IT experience with at least 4 years in System Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Excellent communication skills, including good customer relationship management.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment, including strong leadership / team building skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneously.

Systems Engineering Background:

Demonstrate Systems Engineering and System Thinking experience across the product development lifecycle including concept design, detailed design, integration, verification, qualification, and validation. Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills necessary to prepare and present briefings, papers, and reports, and lead working groups and technical interchange meetings. Develop and derive customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, cost constraints, and non-functional requirements such as user experience, cyber and physical security, often within a tool such as DOORS or a requirement traceability matrix. Develop and organize test plans, integrate test cases, and ensure testing is complete and documented, including utilizing automated verification and validation methods. Demonstrate familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as, but not limited to, Cameo, Orbus, etc. Perform detailed market analysis and trade studies.

Salary Range: $92,600 - $139,000

Salary Range 2: $114,900 - $172,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
