Portfolio Manager

Job Summary

The Portfolio Manager will develop the overall success of assigned states. This role will be responsible for analyzing state trends, rate adequacy, and claims trends. The PM will collaborate with multiple departments (Claims, Tech, Customer Experience, and Sales) within Orion180 to ensure the product's success. This position will monitor market competition and ensureOrion180maintains a competitive advantage in terms of quality and performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent insurance industry experience required.
  • 3 or more years of property and casualty insurance experience required.
  • 5 or more yearsof business analysis or product management experience required.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office.
  • Problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills, to develop strategy based on research, data, and industry trends.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Managethe overall product performance of assigned states.
  • Identifies market needs and ensures that the product meets and performs as expected.
  • Comfortable juggling multiple simultaneous projects at various stages of completion.
  • Knows how to motivate and drive a project team to success.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing departments to 1) review market strategy, 2) help them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer, 3) provide input on marketing collateral development on why product was developed, 4) and the ability to define and articulate competitive products.
  • Collaborates with technology team and technical writers to develop product documentation and training.
  • Owns and communicates requirements for products and enhancement.
  • Knows and understands the competitive environment and provides technical competitive analysis in support of product positioning and sales.
  • Overall product management for the product line/category.
  • Provides leadership and delivery on projects while collaborating with other departments.
  • Understands business goals and ensures they are met; builds and manages product line/category goals.
  • Identifies new product opportunities as needed, defining product requirements.
  • Builds product road maps and strategy by creating an annual product plan.
  • Ensure products are within optimal price margins, up to specifications and competitive in the market space.
  • Gathers and analyzes feedback from sales, marketing, customer experience and agents to define requirements.
  • Creates business cases and returns on investment analysis for new features and presents to management.

Work Environment

The office environment is quiet and, in a temperature, controlled setting with random adjustments in noise or temperature due to conversations, unscheduled maintenance repairs to the building or its interior offices, or unpredictable situations due to weather or other acts beyond company control. An employee must be available to work their regularly assigned work schedule for their duties and/or job responsibilities and in times of need, work an extended schedule depending on the company/department needs, project requirements, or customer demands.
