Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Supportability (Avionics) Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The position is located in Melbourne, FL. This position is fully onsite with no remote work available.
The candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. The candidate should be well organized, pay a great deal of attention to detail, possess good written and verbal communication skills and be able to present design concepts to an audience. The Candidate must be able to work well with co-workers, other groups and external suppliers.
Essential Functions:
Identify, analyze, quantify and influence logistics requirements to support a weapon system including spares, Support Equipment, technical data, training, facilities, and personnel
Interface with vehicle engineering to influence weapon system design for supportability
Initiate and perform trade studies
Perform detailed maintenance task analysis
Determine overall weapon support system requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access (es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field from an accredited university with 5 years previous experience working in an Engineering or Technical position OR a Master’s Degree in STEM and 3 years' experience OR PhD with 1 year of experience.
Must have a basic understanding of electrical engineering.
Prior experience in systems engineering, system design concepts and maintenance of avionic and/or RF Systems, including Communications, Navigation, RADAR, digital and analog systems.
Knowledge of design and database tools (NX/CPLM) and possess ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and parts list.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a STEM field (Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing).
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
Current Special Program Access (PAR/SAP).
Experience with testability, troubleshooting, fault trees and/or FMECA.
Salary Range: $86,600 - $130,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
