Software Engineer needed to support engineering tools in multi-sector enterprise environments (unclassified and classified). The position will deploy, support, customize, and maintain the suite of Commercial and Open Source applications used by Software and Systems Engineering. This role can be performed by a level 2 (early career) or level 3 (mid-career). Primary locations: NGC Centers of Excellence in Melbourne, FL, Baltimore, MD, Falls Church, VA, Roy, UT, or Redondo Beach, CA.

Responsibilities include:

  • Configure, deploy and administer commercial and open source SW Factory software

  • Develop code to aid in administration of the SW Factory

  • Provide end user support to SW Factory suite of applications

  • Monitor, address, and resolve production SW Factory application incidents, reports

  • Interfacing, collaboratively, with the other development and administration teams inside of Corporate

  • Maintain strong expertise and knowledge of current and emerging technologies and products

  • Provide best practice, recommendations and guidance to manage SW factory operations at scale

Basic Qualifications for Level 2:

  • Must have a Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related STEM discipline with at least 2 years of experience OR a Masters Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related STEM discipline with 0 years of experience

  • Must have experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems

  • Ability to work well in a virtual team environment, with team members located throughout the country

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to multitask and juggle more than one task at a time

  • Self-starter with the ability to independently resolve issues and deliver results

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills-Server/Client Software installation experience

  • Understanding of core IT competencies (Networking, Servers, DBs, Apps)

  • Experience programing in scripting languages (Python, Java)

  • Active DoD Secret clearance (or the ability to obtain one)

  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong technical (administrative is preferred) foundation in several of the following technologies:

  • Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub, Gitlab, SonarQube, Nexus Repository Lifecycle and Firewall, Atlassian (Crowd, Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Fisheye and Crucible)

  • Administration experience with Postgres

  • CompTIA Security+ certification

  • AWS console administration experience

Salary Range: $75,300 - $130,800

Salary Range 2: $92,600 - $160,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
