Qualifications, Experience and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 10-12 years of accounting experienceor equivalent knowledge.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Insurance industry experienceis essential.
  • 8 years of managerial experience.
  • Experience inNetSuiteandadvanced Microsoft Excelskills.
  • Technical accounting skills with knowledge ofUS GAAPandStatutory Accounting Principles (SSAP).

Physical Demands

Job Summary

We are seeking aSenior Manager of Financial Reportingto assist in preparing journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, and other financial reports. This role involves executing daily accounting processes and transactions in support of the Controller. The ideal candidate will manage direct reports, conduct detailed reviews of team deliverables, and work in a deadline-driven environment.

Role and Responsibilities

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Document financial transactions in the general ledger.
  • Drive the preparation of financial statements.
  • Review financial transactions and ensure adequate work-papers.
  • Provide guidance for improving work-papers and procedures.
  • Analyze financial discrepancies and verify entries.
  • Produce error-free accounting reports with robust supporting documentation.
  • Recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Develop and document business processes to strengthen internal controls.
  • Communicate effectively with regulators as needed.
  • Foster strong client relationships through positive interactions.
