Job Description: If you have a passion for working in Catering, we have a great opportunity for you to work with us! Our Melville Store is seeking a PT Catering Clerk for their busy department. Our gourmet store is busy taking orders, preparing orders and delivering orders. Come join our gourmet foods family and be part of our team!

The Catering Clerk has core scheduling hours from 7am-7pm (Ex. of working hours 12pm-7pm or 3pm-7pm, etc). Our Catering Clerks are responsible for providing exemplary customer service while maintaining the safety of customers and team members.

This individual will exceed customer needs and expectations by providing efficient, accurate and pleasant check-out service and catering shopping assistance. Orders are prepared for store pickup or delivery.

Responsibilities: Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service or assistance. Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe the company uniform policy. Demonstrate the core values of Uncle Giuseppes and observe all Loss Prevention and Safety policies Pack items pertaining to orders and get them ready for delivery and pickup, ensuring that all items are inside each order. This includes any utensils, table clothes, service spoons, condiments, etc. Will prepare foods for catering or deli during down times of catering. Maintain a clean and neat workstation. Taking orders from customers either in person or over the phones ensuring the right amount of food is ordered. Will be responsible for processing customer online orders, packing orders and ensuring payments are received. Setting up in store demos. Assist in maintaining back-room efficiency by unloading/loading catering related deliveries and orders Provide exemplary customer service and greet guests in a friendly manner. Properly handle products and equipment in accordance with food safety and safety guidelines. Other duties and functions as assigned.

Requirements: HS Diploma or equivalent. Must be 18 years or older. Prior catering experience working in a fast paced environment is preferred. Ability to work in varying temperatures. Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way. Ability to work cooperatively with others. Ability to operate all equipment customarily used by the Food Service Department and other equipment as may be required. Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies. Must be able to speak, read and understand the English language. Additional Skills and Qualifications: Outgoing and friendly. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Can work within a team or on their own/ Must be extremely detail orientated. Takes pride in their work and is always willing to learn. Must be able to lift safely 30lbs and up to 50lbs. Must be able to stand while walking for entire shift.
