As the Inventory Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all activities related to inventory control and management within the distribution center. Your role will involve overseeing inventory accuracy, implementing efficient inventory management processes, and leading a team of inventory associates.

We are looking for an Inventory Supervisor – 2nd Shift (3pm – 11:30pm). This position will be based at our Distribution Center in Southaven, MS.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of inventory associates, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective inventory control and management practices. You will be responsible for their performance, development, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

  • Oversee and maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, reconciliations, and investigations of discrepancies. You will work closely with the inventory team to ensure accurate inventory records and identify and resolve any issues that may impact inventory accuracy.

  • Coordinate with other departments, such as purchasing and logistics, to ensure timely receipt and accurate recording of incoming inventory. Collaboration with these teams will be crucial in streamlining processes and improving efficiency in inventory management.

  • Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures to maintain accurate stock levels. This includes establishing guidelines for receiving, storing, and issuing inventory, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and optimize inventory levels to minimize carrying costs while meeting customer demands. Utilizing inventory management software and tools, you will generate reports and make data-driven decisions to optimize inventory.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve inventory accuracy, storage layout, and picking processes. By working closely with stakeholders, you will identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce errors.

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with inventory control policies and procedures. Physical inventory audits and system audits will be conducted to identify and address any discrepancies.

  • Train and develop the inventory team on proper inventory handling and management techniques. Providing ongoing training and coaching will ensure that all team members are knowledgeable about inventory control procedures.

  • Investigate and resolve any inventory discrepancies, including root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures. Working closely with the inventory team, you will identify the underlying causes of discrepancies and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and technology advancements related to inventory management. Actively seeking opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills will ensure that Siemens Southaven Distribution Center remains at the forefront of inventory management practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Proven experience as an inventory supervisor or similar role, preferably in a distribution center or warehouse environment. Demonstrated success in managing inventory accuracy and implementing inventory control processes is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles and best practices.

  • Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. You should be able to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize inventory levels.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks effectively. You should be able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively supervise and motivate a team. You should be able to convey complex information clearly and concisely.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. You should be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is preferred.

  • Familiarity with inventory management software and systems is a plus.

  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is preferred.

  • The pay range for this position is $48,700 - $83,400. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
