First Horizon Bank Rehab Credit Officer in Memphis, Tennessee

Location: On site in Birmingham, AL; Memphis, TN; Jonesboro, AR

SUMMARY

Responsible for managing a portfolio of problem commercial loans and implementing strategies to mitigate credit risk and maximize recovery. Ensures proper servicing, including but not limited to collections, assigning a proper loan rating, preparing detailed action plans, creation of exposure management strategies, and account related administrative duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Restructures small to mid-size commercial problem loans of low to moderate complexity.

  • Works with lending personnel and commercial borrowers to better secure collateral and/or assets of loan relationship.

  • Contacts customers regarding delinquent accounts, and workout repayment strategies including authorizing payment extensions

  • Maximizes collections and minimize losses on portfolio assigned while ensuring appropriate governance and prudent risk management.

  • Prepares timely and accurate projection and C&C reports, recommends non-accrual and charge-offs, and rates the accounts according to the financial institution’s procedures

  • Ensures payments are properly credited or applied to customer accounts and in financial institution records or returned, if foreclosure has been initiated or payments are unacceptable

  • Reviews payment lists and maintains departmental files

  • Ensures administrative support forwards financial institution information to credit bureaus as appropriate

  • Orders liquidations, foreclosures and repossessions when necessary

  • Work closely with outside vendors, especially law firms, to ensure invoices are accurate and the work product is appropriate.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additionally, the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required in this position:

  1. Bachelor (4-year college) degree and 6-8 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

  2. Strong communication skills

  1. Microsoft Office suite

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS (Ex: CPA, Series 6 or 7 license, etc)
