As a Senior People Analyst on our People Analytics team, your role will focus on building data reports and visualizations, supporting and validating data systems alongside our IT partners, and performing complex statistical analysis to include machine learning and custom reports with accompanying insights while working to continually improve the quality and efficiency of data. Working with our global teams, you will shape and influence a world class experience for our customers and play a key role in supporting data driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide data analytics services to help solve business problems, drive value, and gain strategy and insight from information related to our greatest asset—our 120,000+ AutoZoners

• Focus on highly complex business problems involving the acquisition, validation, and analysis of data

• Provide review and analysis of new data sources, including identifying data structure and quality issues

• Create views, tables, and queries in the production sandbox environment in support of analytics use cases

• Provide research and analysis on data sources in support of business requirements – and help both technical and non-technical team members understand what a dataset can (and cannot) support

• Create documentation to support the transition to production engineering delivery once the use cases are proven

• Translate statistical findings into insightful recommendations with intent to present to business leaders at the Executive level

• Routinely provide relevant enhanced insights beyond the basic scope of requirements

• Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in data analytics

• Responsible for mentoring and assisting junior level analysts

• Effectively multi-tasks and manages multiple priorities without compromising deadlines or quality

• Highly adaptable to change, ambiguity and/or shifting priorities

  Education and/or Experience

• Master degree in relevant field of study (statistics, economics, business analytics, finance, computer science etc.) OR Bachelor degree plus 3-5 years of professional experience in analytics, business intelligence, statistics, data engineering, or business analysis.

• Expert proficiency with SQL, including best practices for use with enterprise data sources

• Expert knowledge of Python as well as statistical analysis platforms such as SPSS, R/RStudio, Google Analytics, or JMP

• Highly skilled visualization software such as: Tableau, PowerBI, Web Focus, Google Looker

• Possess a positive attitude and establish good working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

• High sense of urgency in providing strong level of service and follow-through

• Preferred knowledge of cloud-based data lakes and reporting tools, including BigQuery and Vertex AI
