Amazon Regulated Waste Coordinator in Memphis, Tennessee

Description

Function as Lead on the Regulated Waste Team where products and hazardous materials such as contaminated products, items for destruction, disposal, resale, or donation are properly managed in a manner compliant with all applicable federal, state and local regulations. The Regulated Waste Coordinator will also serve as the POC for incidental spill/leak/release cleanup activities.

Oversee the donations program. Liaison with local charities to certify eligibility, schedule pick-ups, and ensure donations are compliant with Amazon Policy.

Reconciliation of site inventories, hazardous chemicals and waste materials; characterization/determination including proper segregation, containerizing, labeling and preparing for shipment, in accordance with DOT and RCRA requirements.

Provide and facilitate all required training to associates in the hazardous waste stream including Regulated Waste Associates and ICQA associates processing damages and destroys.

Serve as designated Regulated Waste representative of assigned Fulfillment Center (FC), coordinating and implementing all areas of the Amazon Regulated Waste Program as directed by Safety Manager of the FC.

Physical maintenance and organization of the waste storage/management areas and all satellite accumulation areas, in accordance with regulatory requirements and applicable network policies.

Waste record keeping, including waste generator logs and routine inspections.

Liaison with Site Safety team, ICQA, and facilities teams responsible for the generation and proper management and hazardous chemicals, hazardous and universal wastes.

Must be trained to handle and process waste in accordance with RCRA (LQG), DOT, OSHA and state specific regulations and requirements.

Organize and provide inventory orders to the Safety team for procurement.

The Hazmat Coordinator Coordinator provides technical support and tactical execution in the implementation of Amazon Global Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs within assigned fulfillment center.

Function as Lead in Regulated Waste Team which sorts, identifies, designates and packages regulated waste from the production floor in a manner compliant with all applicable federal, state and local regulations. The Regulated Waste Coordinator will also serve as the POC for spills generated within the site. Serve as designated Regulated Waste representative of assigned fulfillment center (FC), coordinating and implementing all areas of the Amazon Regulated Waste Program as directed by Safety Manager of the regional node.

Key job responsibilities

Process waste and prepare for shipment.

Maintain required logs and documentation

Respond to spill call inside and in the trailer yard

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience

  • High school or equivalent

  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

  • Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach

  • Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required
