Cabela's Room Attendant in Memphis, United States

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Housekeeping room attendant is responsible for cleaning all assigned areas in accordance with Big Cedar Lodge procedures and standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides professional, friendly service to all guests.

  • Cleans corridors, lobbies, stairways, and lounges as well as guest rooms.

  • Organizes work schedule from the room status list, arrivals, and departures.

  • Distributes linen, towels and room supplies using wheeled carts or by hand and organize and restock cart at the end of the shift.

  • Restocks room supplies such as drinking glasses, soaps, shampoos, writing supplies and replaces laundry bags and slips.

  • Replaces dirty linens with clean items and stores all dirty laundry in line with company policy.

  • Inspects and turns mattresses regularly, checks all appliances in rooms are in working order and realign furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout.

  • Responds to guest queries and requests, responds to calls for housekeeping problems such as spills, broken glasses, deliver any requested housekeeping items to guest rooms and remove room service items

  • Ensures confidentiality and security of guest rooms and follow all company safety and security procedures.

  • Observe and report damage of hotel property report any maintenance issues or safety hazards

  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Years of experience: 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Basic knowledge of housekeeping department duties

  • Familiarity with computer software word processing, database and spreadsheet (especially Excel) is essential.

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions,

  • short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Other Skills and Abilities: The ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for guest satisfaction. Must be detailed oriented. Need strong clerical, organizational and communication skills.

  • Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
