Description
We are offering a six month consulting opportunity for a Senior Accountant in the Non-Profit industry located in Menlo Park, California. This role entails maintaining the accuracy of financial records and reports, ensuring the timely reporting of accounts related to the organization, and assisting in the period close processes. Workday Financial ERP proficiency is highly preferred but not required. This role is hybrid (1 day onsite/week). You will focus on cash management, cash application, accounts receivable, and sales/use tax. This is a cash reconciliation heavy accounting role. Responsibilities
• Ensuring the accuracy and prompt reporting of all accounts associated with cash accounts.
• Reviewing and preparing federal, state, and other regulatory reports to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
• Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls, reports for financial systems, and interfaces.
• Reconciling, maintaining, and updating general ledger accounts as required.
• Preparing and/or reviewing account reconciliations, cost reports, billings, bank reconciliations, and various other financial reports.
• Reviewing financial transactions and general ledger journal entries to ensure accuracy and correcting any errors as necessary.
• Participating in the process of monthly, quarterly, and annual period close.
• Experience with Workday Financial Management is preferred, and the ability to review and post journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliation, cash reconciliations, and expense accruals is expected.
Requirements
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the non-profit sector preferred.
• Proficiency in using Workday Financial Management software preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in reviewing and posting journal entries.
• Proven expertise in balance sheet account reconciliation.
• Experience in conducting cash reconciliations is mandatory.
• Knowledge of processing and managing expense accruals.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
