Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineering Manager with 7+ years of experience to lead our Business Intelligence Engineering team supporting finance. The position will be responsible for creating data models, dashboards, and reports that enable data analysis to drive decision-making processes within the finance organization. This person will also partner with the IT data group to ensure the right data pipelines exist to support our reporting needs. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual who places an emphasis on data and reporting architecture that will allow the finance team to efficiently grow with the business.

Position Duties:

  • Manage and mentor a team of business intelligence engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement

  • Oversee the design and implementation of BI solutions, including data models, ETL processes, dashboards, and reports.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements and actionable insights.

  • Develop and maintain data governance practices to ensure data quality, consistency, and security.

  • Evaluate and implement BI tools and technologies to improve data processing and visualization capabilities.

  • Track project progress and manage resources to deliver BI projects on time and within budget.

  • Monitor data quality and performance to ensure reliability and accuracy of metrics.

  • Partner with finance leadership to track and prioritize data and reporting needs throughout the finance organization.

  • Drive data governance initiatives within the finance department.

  • Partner with the IT team as they develop new data warehouse capabilities and train the finance team on best practices for using the new tools.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data analytics and business intelligence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • 7+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or similar roles.

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling and ETL processes.

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI).

  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to motivate a team and align technical initiatives with business goals.

  • Strong communication skills, capable of translating complex data insights for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience with the Oracle platform considered a plus

  • Ability to work well on diverse, cross-functional teams

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Attention to detail is a must with a willingness to tic and tie data to ensure accuracy
