Job Description

The Materials Management Supervisor/Lead Driver is responsible for overseeing various day-to-day operations in the material management department as well as ensuring routes are routed and delivered on time each week. This includes the strategic planning of receiving, storage, replenish and supply processes as well as building, modifying, communicating, etc. routes for delivery and maintaining up to date maintenance on vehicles. The supervisor ensures that materials are available to meet production schedules, manages inventory levels to prevent overstocking and shortages, and coordinates with other departments to ensure that the right materials are available at the right time

Job Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing materials management strategies (Supermarket) in line with organizational objectives (Strategy Deployment Level 2, both AIP and TTI?s).

  • Monitoring the quality, quantity, cost, and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods.

  • Coordinating and controlling the order cycle and associated information systems (VendEngine).

  • Analyzing data to monitor performance and plan improvements and demand.

  • Managing staff and overseeing their training and development.

  • Managing budgets and timelines within the department.

  • Build and modify daily routes.

  • Assign drivers to daily routes.

  • Assist in addressing customer service concerns as they relate to drivers and/or deliveries.

  • Communicate maintenance and general fleet needs with the Territory Manager and coordinate repairs and service as necessary.

  • Drive box trucks as emergency backup to ensure customer?s receive deliveries on time.

Qualifications

  • Intermediate level proficiency with computers and Windows based software

  • Minimum 3 years-experience driving straight trucks and/or similar equipment

  • Managing/supervising employee experience (3-5 years)

  • Prior experience operating trucks with an ELD and ELD related software ( preferred )

  • Knowledge of basic fleet routing principles and software ( preferred )

  • Warehouse leadership experience ( preferred )

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, pushing/pulling pallets up to 2,000 lbs on/of a truck with a pallet jack, breaking down and stacking boxes weighing 50+ lbs as necessary, etc. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
