Confidential Production Supervisor in Mentor, Ohio

The 2nd shift Production Supervisor oversees all the daily actives in the Department at the shop floor level.  This person must be highly self-motivated and engaging with workers to help them reach their maximum potential.  Teaching and coaching are critical skills with a positive attitude and is critical in helping our hourly workers reach their maximum potential and allow them to grow in their career with new machine knowledge.  This person will spend most of their time on the shop floor and will be involved in overseeing setups and performance matrixes.  The position also requires them to manage day to day and job to job work order entry into our ERP system.

 

Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities:

Production Supervisor must attend to many tasks to ensure that production is produced safely, on time and in specification.

Staffing and Line Assignments:

Production Supervisor will assign the proper personnel to train and correct performance issues that prevent the successful production runs of our machines.  The need to create worker depth in skills is a critical part of the success in this area of the business.

 

Build Relationships with Hourly Workers:

Hourly employees must receive individual attention to ensure that the best possible results are established and maintained.  The Supervisor must have open dialogue with each worker to build communication. They will meet with the worker and watch how they setup their lines and then observe how the line is run and monitor run rates against production standards.  Summarization of workers performance will be charted and reviewed with worker on frequent basis.

 

* Maintain Proper Documentation*:

Using the company's ERP system work orders are issued for each job, it is critical that the worker be taught and monitored for properly logging into setup and then production.  Closing work orders will be an important part of the hourly monitoring.

  • Working knowledge Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Managing the daily schedules
  • Tracking worker's progress
  • High energy and self-motivated
  • Knowing all aspects of the production work centers
  • 3 to 5 years previous experience a plus
