Responsibilities
Positiion Summary
Responsible for the delivery of safe effective and quality patient-family centered care in the OR and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations. Functions as an RN first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures and throughout the perioperative continuum in accordance with scope of practice credentials privileges experience education and competency verification. As needed the RNFA may provide patient care by circulating or scrubbing surgical procedures. During surgical procedures the RNFA does not function concurrently as a Scrub Nurse.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of Operating Room experience
Education
- Requirements for RNFA are successful completion of an RNFA program that meets the "AORN" standards for RN first assistant education programs
Licensure
Must possess and maintain a current Registered Nurse license issued by the State of California.
Must possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support(BLS) Certificate.
Must possess and maintain a current Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS).
Must possess and maintain a current Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certificate (PALS).
CNOR/PON or NP is required.
Special Skills
Demonstrates knowledge and skill in applying principles of asepsis and infection control.
Demonstrates knowledge of surgical anatomy physiology and operative procedures wherein the RNFA assists.
Must have the ability to read write and speak English.
Preferred
- Previous RNFA experience preferred
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
Pay Range
$45.72 - $59.43 /hour
