Responsibilities

MSTS is seeking a dynamic, self-driven, and highly motivated Senior Work Planner to join our Nuclear, High Explosive and NN-1 facilities maintenance team in the Forward Area at the NNSS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and review work packages for the implementation and control of operations, maintenance, and construction work activities within a given facility or area.

  • Interface with engineers, work control, facility representatives, and planning teams for various facilities.

  • Specific planning duties may be related to mechanical, electrical, chemical and/or radiological equipment, policies, and procedures and may include resolving work restraints and bringing work packages to final closure.

  • Attention to detail with regards to assets, frequencies, charge numbers, job plans, and dates.

  • Analyze time and material requirements for work activity.

  • Track and expedite established priority of work packages.

  • Perform various functional and administrative activities in conjunction with the primary work control/work package development including, but not limited to, permit development, testing requirements, documentation generation, records management, database information management, retrieval and review, and/or training.

  • Learn all Company and industry regulatory guidance and governance specific to work control and planning.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/ Lead Planner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in field related to the position or equivalent training and experience plus a minimum of 5 years of progressive related experience .

  • Previous experience with government CMMS software is preferred.

  • Able to use personal computer, printers, copiers, scanners, telephones, fax machines, calculators, and other general office equipment.

  • Able to follow oral and written instruction, and follow through on all assignments.

  • Able to apply knowledge of a broad range of specialized functions and assist in coordinating activities with those of other work groups.

  • Able to demonstrate creativity in how work is performed and in addressing work processes.

  • Able to plan/organize work to complete in the most efficient manner and meet required deadlines.

  • Able to deal with pressure of handling multiple tasks, complaints, frequent interruptions, and time constraints.

  • Knowledge of basic math, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

  • Position requires regular travel to forward areas located in the NNSS.

  • Work schedule for this position is 4/10's Mondays -Thursdays (subject to change).

  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

    MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age.     Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in10 CFR Part 707.4 (http://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-idx?SID=14b1c770db022992d237769fbe9fc519&mc=true&node=se10.4.707_14&rgn=div8) , “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Annual salary range for this position is: $75,046.40 to $112,569.60.

Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
