OPEN POSITION: Planner/Planning Technician

Office Location: Meridian, Idaho

Position Overview:

J-U-B ENGINEERS, Inc. is hiring a Planner or Planning Technician to join our land use planning and land development teams. The J-U-B planning division is based in our corporate headquarters in Meridian, Idaho and provides a wide range of local and regional planning services to public and private clients. We have an immediate opening for a planner or planning technician to support our local work, as well as support planning and complex land development projects across the region. Company-wide, we have an experienced team of certified planners, landscape architects, GIS professionals, transportation, environmental planners, and land development planners. This position requires an individual who is excited about being part of our high-performing teams and has a strong desire to support work in communities throughout Idaho and our neighboring states.

While working with J-U-Bs multi-disciplinary project teams, typical tasks and assignments may include:

  • Collaborate and work efficiently as a team with project managers, planners, engineers, public involvement specialists, and other subject matter experts.
  • Maintain a positive attitude of cooperation in the performance of work assignments, including adaptability, flexibility, and proactive engagement.
  • Research, analyze, and prepare content for general or subarea plans, transportation plans, and other reports.
  • Support planning and land development projects by collecting, tabulating, analyzing, and interpreting data.
  • Review land development projects and applications for consistency with all relevant plans, codes, and entitlements and ensure timely and accurate submittals to a variety of public agencies.
  • Meet and/or facilitate technical and citizens advisory committees to present, discuss or formulate policy recommendations.
  • Present effectively to the public, planning committees and commissions, as well as local decisionmakers through verbal and written communications.
