  • JOB SUMMARY

  • Performs venipuncture and skin punctures competently and expediently. Has thorough knowledge of test requirements, assists in lab as needed. Responsibilities include bleeding time tests, blood cultures, and blood samples.

  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:

  • Education/Regulatory Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED.

  • Eighty hours of training in the proper procedure to be employed in the performance of venipuncture and skin punctures under the supervision of the phlebotomy supervisor.

  • Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy certification preferred.

  • Skills:

  • Moderate to advanced computer and data entry skills.

  • May be required to make reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of Phlebotomy without compromising client care.
