PRIMARY FUNCTION The Aviation Equipment Specialist is responsible for all tools, equipment and shop assets valued at $1.5M including the security, management and positive control through inventory and company procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Maintains the tool room and equipment in a neat and orderly manner. Ensures the FOD and Tool Control program is enforced throughout the facility Ensures all equipment is accounted for using the tool and equipment asset control database. Assists with tooling needs and provides information/training to new employees regarding tooling and supplies. Manages in-service and calibration requirements for all required assets and equipment. Manages and oversees the consumable asset program and ensures adequate resources are available to support ongoing operations. Inspects equipment regularly to ensure serviceability and maintainability. Removes unserviceable items from service and arranges for repair/replacement. Ensures safe operations throughout the facility Responsible for all ground support equipment. Ensures a viable preventive maintenance program is executed to extend equipment service life and promote safe operation. Maintains control of tool room, issues tool and supplies to production personnel Re-stocks the tooling dispensing machines daily or as needed Periodically, as scheduled, conducts inventory count of workstations and tool room inventories correcting any inventory deficiencies or discrepancies to achieve a 0 annual inventory. Identifies and procures shortfalls and actively manages the tool serviceability program. Adheres to all company operating procedures and quality management system requirements. Operates and prepares facility and equipment for semiannual third-party audits. Assists Hangar Operations Manager with facility management. Other duties as required by the Hangar Operations Manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has supervisory responsibilities over employees. Provides counsel and guidance to ensure all tasks are being completed accurately and efficiently.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: Beginner to intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. Working knowledge of advance software applications is preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, federal regulations, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will also routinely interact with other crew members Must possess effective communication skills to clearly communicate information to others. Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc. Ability to follow a process. Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up. Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently Ability to multi-task Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform; general decisions are made to solve a problem or select a course of action for a standard or recognized method of operation. Ability to rely on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to company's goals.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required. 2+ years of relevant experience Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
