The software engineering group in FAST labs is seeking a Lead Software Engineer. . You will work with our programs using your technical skills and experience to ensure the design, implementation, and sustainment of our software solutions meet and exceed customer expectations. You will work with program and engineering management to ensure overall success of our programs. You will help develop estimates (BoE and ROM), software development plans, contribute to architecture, select tools and components, drive the schedule for SW development, oversee development standards, conduct code reviews, and ensure adequate testing of delivered SW product.

Manage software program performance metrics and clearly communicating program status to internal and external customers as well as senior leadership.

Technical roles include architecture and design reviews, strategic initiative implementation, next generation solution planning and other areas of engagement that align with your skills and career aspirations.

Qualified candidates should possess knowledge of software architectures, software industry best practices, and emerging software technologies.

This is a a full-time on-site position based at our Merrimack, NH facilities.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • BS degree in a STEM field and 10 years work experience or equivalent experience in the development of complex software intensive systems. 8 years experience with MS degree.

  • Active Top Secret DoD clearance with ability to obtain SCI accesses

  • Strong Experience in leading software teams in a technical role.

  • Strong Experience with C , Git, Jira, automated testing tools, and SW architecture.

  • Experience presenting to technical and non-technical audiences, internally and customer facing.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Active TS/SCI DoD clearance

  • Embedded software design and implementation

  • Software Defined Radios, Communication protocols, encryption, Digital Signal Processing

  • Foundational knowledge with DevSecOps

  • Deep knowledge in one or more of the following languages MATLAB, Rust, C

  • Model Based Engineering methods and tools

  • Cost Account Management/Earned Value Management

  • Cloud Native Technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, Helm

  • Involvement with open standards such as the Software Communications Architecture (SCA), Open Mission Systems (OMS), Big Iron, Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE), Vehicle Integration for C4ISR/EW Interoperability (VICTORY), C4ISR/EW Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS) and Sensor Open System Architecture (SOSA).

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $140690 - $239140

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
