Through research programs funded by science and technology R&D organizations within the
U.S. Department of Defense, the research and development team in FAST Labs collaborate across the enterprise. On this team, you ll have the opportunity to create and develop advanced technology capabilities in the areas of advanced electronics, autonomy, cyber, electronic warfare, and sensors and processing.
BAE Systems is looking for a Cybersecurity Systems Engineer. The qualified candidate will be working in support of system security activities in a rapid operational environment. They will support the specification, development, implementation, maintenance, and continual accreditation and authorization of computer security technologies using cybersecurity methodologies and information assurance management techniques on internal, DoD, and Intelligence Community systems on the Blue Ribbon program in Merrimack NH. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
This position may require business travel to customer locations in support of customer meetings, product demonstration, Integration and/or systems testing.
In this role, you will:
Lead Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities for DoD Systems in accordance with Risk Management Framework
Lead Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) activities to mitigate system vulnerabilities on assigned Information Systems
Maintain a thorough understanding of NIST 800-53 controls, and determine which controls are applicable to the application, as well as document implementation in a System Security Plan (SSP) or Security Controls Tractability Matrix (SCTM)
Support traditional systems engineering tasks such as CONOPS, requirements development and allocation, cyber design engineering, cyber implementation engineering, verification and Validation, and continuous monitoring efforts during deployment, Operations and Sustainment
Develop and assess system security plans including, security concepts of operation, security control traceability matrix, security test procedures, plan of action and milestones, among others
Provide technical and procedural support to processes and procedures needed to maintain the system security posture and perform continuous monitoring within program budget
Maintain day-to-day security posture and continuous monitoring of Information Systems
Report or resolve system configuration and patching vulnerability issues in coordination with the lead ISSM/O or program management
Provide configuration and change management and accurately assess the impact of system/configuration modifications upon the system s security posture and compliance
This position may require business travel to customer locations in support of customer meetings.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor of Science degree in a Cyber, Systems, Software, Electrical, Mechanical, or similarly related engineering/technical discipline, and 6 year(s) related or equivalent experience, training and/or certifications.
US Citizenship with an Active Top Secret/SCI security Clearance
CompTIA Security or equivalent certification
Ability to ensure system security measures comply with applicable National Cybersecurity policies (RMF, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, internal standards, etc.) on complex systems
Ability to assist in maintaining the security Body of Evidence such as the IA CONOPS, Risk Matrix, SSP, STP, POA&M, SCTM, and system policies and procedures
Ability to communicate effectively with higher level managers, functional managers, customers, industry partners, and teammates
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Extensive experience with traditional A&A tools: ACAS Nessus, SCAP Scanner, STIG Viewer
Other cyber certifications (CISSP, ISSAP, ISSEP, CSSLP, CCSP, CEH, OSCP, etc.)
Strong oral and written communications skills
Motivated self-starter with good problem-solving skills, judgment, and analytical capability
Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic/collaborative environment
Experience with Systems Administration on Windows and Linux
Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure
Experience with Space Systems PIT (Platform Information Technology)
Experience in a DoD related ISSM/O role maintaining system security posture
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $112420 - $191070
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
