Through research programs funded by science and technology R&D organizations within the U.S. Department of Defense, the research and development team in FAST Labs collaborate across the enterprise.   • BAE Systems, within the FAST Labs Business Area, is looking for a motivated Contracts professional to join our team to lead our Sensing Technology product line. We are the technology engine for BAE Systems Electronic Systems Sector performing research, development and prototype projects that expand today's technologies and capabilities for a wide range of customers. Our Contracts team is agile and composed of highly skilled and dedicated Contracts professionals who work in a supportive and inclusive manner.

The successful candidate shall be accountable for the preparation, negotiation, and management of complex proposals and/or contract activities in accordance with company policies, legal and customer requirements with limited guidance or supervision from the Senior Contracts Director. The successful candidate will need to interpret and communicate business commitments and alternatives to program teams and management while proactively managing contractual scope, customer communication and expectations.

In addition to supporting active programs, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of personnel. The successful candidate must have prior management experience preferably with teams not located at one central work location.

This position requires an extensive knowledge of government contracting methods, applicable laws and regulations and the ability to develop and maintain professional and dependable relationships with both internal and external customers, especially in challenging and sometimes demanding situations. This position will also require the selected candidate to work both on unclassified and classified programs.

Given the shifting dynamics within the working environment, the successful candidate will also be in the position to work a hybrid work arrangement. When in the office, the work team will be located at our Merrimack, NH facility. Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of related contracts experience or equivalent experience in DoD contracting.

  • Existing Secret Clearance and be capable of upgrading to Top Secret/SCI.

  • Strong team players who enjoy working with program management and other functional disciplines in a supportive and complementary manner.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for this position as well has having the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Experience managing a team.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • JD or MBA degree in Business or related field.

  • Experience with Government contracting in a classified setting.

  • Top Secret/SCI

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $124080 - $210980

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
