Robert Half Staff Accountant in Mesa, Arizona

Description We are inviting applications for a Staff Accountant based in Mesa, Arizona. The role involves handling a wide range of accounting tasks within a bustling work environment. The selected candidate will be responsible for processing various financial transactions, maintaining precise financial records, and ensuring effective communication with relevant stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Accurate and efficient processing of accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) invoices for both companies

• Generation and submission of all A/R invoicing, including AIA’s, to clients with support from Project Managers

• Ensuring vendor payments are released in a timely manner and collecting necessary lien waivers to expedite client payment

• Safeguarding all documents by saving them electronically as required

• Taking necessary action on preliminary lien requests received

• Requesting, receiving, and electronically saving copies of vendor Certificate of Insurance

• Generating job cost reports and regularly communicating performance to interested parties, including the project manager

• Monthly reconciliation of credit cards and importing activity into software

• Serving as the primary contact for expense report corrections and submission

• Maintaining accurate, confidential, and secure files for the company

• Attending construction project rollover meetings focusing on accounting responsibilities

• Ensuring accurate construction project data entry into the accounting system. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of three years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar

• Demonstrated proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations is essential

• Familiarity with General Ledger management and maintenance

• Proficient in creating and managing Journal Entries

• Able to handle Month End Close procedures efficiently

• Must have hands-on experience with NetSuite and Oracle

• Knowledge of QuickBooks and SAP is mandatory

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must have a strong ethical stance towards the confidentiality of financial information

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

• Professional certification such as CPA is a plus.
