Title I Teacher Position Sylvan of Metairie Sylvan of Metairie and New Orleans is looking for dedicated teachers for its Title I program in the Greater New Orleans Area for this upcoming school year 2023-2024. This position will start in August/September 2023. We have positions in New Orleans, New Orleans East, and on the Westbank. Sylvan Title I positions offer flexible work schedules both during school hours and after school hours at our school sites. Schedules vary from 4 to 20 hours per week. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: * Attend training sessions to learn the Sylvan programs and deliver designated instructional models and strategies in elementary and/or high school level math, reading, and/or writing skills. * Deliver Sylvan provided individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans. * Be able to deliver lessons on iPads. * Ensure supervision of students at all times, including escorting students safely to and from classroom. * Establish and maintains student forms and files as required by company, local, state, and/or federal agencies. * Must have reliable transportation. * Must be willing to work in school. * Must pass background check. * Other duties may be assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Requires a bachelor’s degree. A Teaching Certificate is required for this position. Tutor and/or teaching experience preferred.
