Robert Half Patient Care Coordinator in Methuen, Massachusetts

Description

Are you passionate about ensuring patients receive the specialty services they need? We are seeking a dedicated Referral Specialist to join our team under the supervision of the Patient Services Supervisor. As a Referral Specialist, you will play a vital role in facilitating specialty service visits for our patients and ensuring compliance with Patient Centered Medical Home requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor electronic referral boxes in the EMR and Faxcom systems to capture referral requests promptly.

  • Prepare and process all referral and pre-authorization paperwork efficiently.

  • Gather necessary information from the clinical team or EMR to complete referral/pre-authorization requests accurately.

  • Liaise with various clinics, facilities, and companies to obtain information required for referral/pre-authorization.

  • Utilize third-party payer/insurance portals effectively, demonstrating detailed knowledge of authorization approval processes.

  • Provide timely updates to patients and healthcare providers regarding referral status.

  • Schedule specialty appointments directly for patients when necessary.

  • Document all pertinent information accurately using EMR functions.

  • Organize and prioritize workload effectively to meet deadlines.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

  • Collaborate with other clinic Referral Specialists, clinicians, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care.

Hours 8am to 5:30pm

* MUST BE BLINGIUAL IN SPANISH / ENGLISH *

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a referral coordination role.

  • Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and fax communication.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.

  • Enthusiastic, caring, and compassionate approach to patient care.
