Job Description

As a UX Architect in AbbVie Business Technology Solutions (BTS), you’ll have opportunities to contribute to the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company, helping to create solutions that impact patients and their communities for the better. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing integrated service experiences across diverse lines of business. You will possess comprehensive knowledge of building and deploying user-centric experiences. You will develop processes, strategies, and solutions that will meet organizational goals, and enhance the patient and customer experience. This will include various systems of engagement and insights ranging from applications utilized by HCPs, patients, agents as well as home/field office employees. The systems will range from Salesforce platforms, dotnet applications, mobile apps to reporting and analytical dashboards. You will understand the needs of various user groups to impart efficient, impactful, and intuitive patient-centric experience.

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

  • Working at all levels from tactical to strategic to help enable seamless experiences by delivering creative, effective, and efficient UX-deliverables like wireframes, mockups, charts and more.

  • Planning, moderating, and facilitating workshops and other group activities to identify problems and opportunities, ideate proposed changes, and drive overall alignment across teams.

  • Learning, developing, teaching, and evolving methodologies and procedures used in the discovery, analysis, and development to ensure that end-user experiences meet high standards of usability, accessibility, and design excellence.

  • Contributing to the creation, prioritization, and selection of features by actively participating in various product discussion sessions and creative concept processes, and produces high-quality solutions in close collaboration with researchers, managers, engineers, and stakeholders.

  • Conceptualizing end-to-end user experiences that reflect coherent and truthful stories; creates effective models that reflect those experiences through design artifacts such as journey-maps, experience-flows by personas, and more in compliance with MLR guardrails

  • Identifying, defining, establishing, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and other measurable metrics to evaluate the success of design recommendations and iteratively propose incremental changes based on data-driven insights

  • Leading a team of UX designers and analysts across AbbVie and vendor partners driving forward innovation and a commitment to user experience excellence

  • Providing leadership to team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department goals; tracks design progress, identifies potential issues, and proactively works on solutions, shares progress, and collaborates with leadership on areas for improvements, and potential issues.

  • Operating under limited guidance; work assignments are varied and require interpretation and independent decisions on the course of action.

  • Keeping abreast and having a passion for the latest trends in the UX field, bringing relevant ideas and design paradigms back to the team, while evangelizing UX principles throughout the organization and providing thought leadership.

Qualifications

Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; PhD with 0 years’ experience.

  • Experienced in managing large, complex programs involving diverse user personas, vendors, and stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders

  • Experience working in Agile, Kanban and other delivery models.

  • Experience writing user stories and jobs-to-be-done clearly articulating the user persona and defining the acceptance criteria.

  • Skilled in direct engagement with user bases through user interviews etc. to identify pain points, distilling key insights and incorporating those into design recommendations for process transformation.

  • Skilled in defining and performing usability testing.

  • Proficiency with Salesforce and Salesforce Lightning Design System.

  • Proficiency building technology context UX designs across Dotnet and Mobile (Android, iOS) frameworks; dashboard/reports on Power BI.

  • Experience leading a team of 1-3 UX designers/analysts (direct/indirect) and collaborating with vendor teams.

Beneficial:

  • Experience working in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry catering to patient-centric user design and experience

  • Salesforce UXD Certification
