FirstService Residential Front Desk/Security Team Lead (Morning/Evening) in Miami Beach, Florida

Job Overview :

Ensures the highest possible level of service is being offered to residents, guests, staff, and service providers.Must be able to understand and react to emergency situations andoperateelectronic security controlsystems. Develops and implements the safety, security and emergency plans and programs for thecondominium association. Monitors the association grounds and immediate exterior surroundings.

Supervises and trains Security staff and keeps the condominium association well informed. Attends to

investigations and coordinates activities with outside agencies to ensure a safe/secure experience for the

residents and staff. Protects the condominium association assets and minimizes liabilities and losses.

Your Responsibilities:

  • The positionis responsible forshort-term planning and the daily operations of the Security staff.

  • Recommends and implements procedural changes.

  • Recommends, implements, andmonitorsthe budget and manages expenses within approved budget constraints.

  • Develops and implements the safety, security and emergency plans and programs for the condominium association.

  • Alwaysmaintainsa professional appearance, adhering to departmental grooming standards, infull uniform.

  • Practice professionalism in every situation with co-workers,residentsand management,treating

each person with respect and integrity.

  • Alwaysmaintainpositive guest relations.

  • Demonstrates excellent customer service, communication, and time management skills.

  • Monitors andoperatesElectronic Security Control Systems and Emergency Response Systems.

  • Responds to emergency situationsin a timely manner.

  • Monitors and controls access to the property.

  • Accuratelymaintainsdaily logs, records, and forms.

  • Maintains a safe and secure environment throughout the property.

  • Follows safety procedures andmaintainsa safe work environment.

  • Works shifts that are subject to change based on property and supervisorial needs of the

  • association.

  • Maintain all safety and equipment standards.

  • Remain current with all staff certifications and licenses.

  • Needs to read and understand the FirstService Residential Handbook/Security Standard OperatingProcedures.

  • Prepare a bi-weekly staff work schedule.

  • In the event ofstaff callouts or arranged time off, the Security Manageris responsible forensuring

coverage is in place.

  • The Security Manager is first expected to personally cover the shift his orherself. If this is not possible, the Security Manager will then obtain approval from the PropertyManager to request theassistanceof an Area Specialist.

  • Conduct regular department meetings forpurposesof informing, training, and inspiring staff.

  • Attend regular meetings as directed by Property Manager

  • Respond on-site to property for all major emergencies unless Property Managerprovidesdifferentguidance.

  • May be assigned other duties by the on-site Property Manager

  • Investigate,analyzeand report on all incidents and accidents; coordinate activities and liaise with localand federal law enforcement agencies, fire companies and insurance agencies to resolve problems,ensure a safe environment for guests and staff and a quality guest experience.

  • Develop safety, security and emergency procedures/action plans for the condominium associationandmonitorprogram implementation within corporate guidelines to protect residents and staff,secure the assets and minimize losses.

  • Train the condominium association staff in conjunction with the Engineering Manager on fireprevention, safety and equipment, accident prevention,securityand emergency procedures todecrease accidents/incidents and reduce life and property liabilities and losses.

  • Train the condominium association staff on radio etiquette and use, SOP’s

  • Manage the security budget to minimize expenses and aid in meeting/exceeding the associationsfinancial goals.

  • Monitor and control the maintenance and repair of safety related equipment to ensure constantemergency readiness.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma

  • Must have or complete within90 daysof hire CLSS (Certified Lodging Security Supervisor) programwith AHLA (American Hotel & Lodging Association.)

  • Must have a valid “Security D License”.

  • College level courses in business or hospitality preferred.

  • Two years’ experience in managing Security department staff preferred: hiring, training, supervising staff.

  • Security management experience in high-quality, luxury-oriented hotel, resort, condominium, or clubpreferred.

  • Experience in managing at least 13 people.

  • Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skillsrequired.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. Multiple language fluency is desirable.

Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift 50 – 100 lbs.

  • Work in an upright standing position forlong periodsof time.

  • Ability to work indifferent environmental working conditions (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain).

  • Walk and climb stairs.

  • Handle,finger, grasp and feel objects and equipment.

  • Reach with hands and arms.

  • Communicate, receive, and exchange ideas and informationby means ofthe spoken and written word.

  • Ability to navigate the property/building quickly and easily asrequiredto meet the job functions.

  • Repeat various motions with thewrists, hands, and fingers.

  • Complete all required forms.

  • Security Support Staff
  • Front Desk Staff

  • Schedule: Mon to Fri 7am to 11pm

Compe n sation: $20 -21.25 Hourly
