Carnival Cruise Line IT Finance Analyst in Miami, Florida

Job Description

The IT Finance Analyst coordinates financial data processes and ensures accurate and timely data processing into various financial systems. Works with the finance, accounting and operational teams to lead the invoice processes, including receipt of invoices from vendors, matching of invoices with system data and accounting accruals, as well as assisting with month end financial closing processes. Also responsible for facilitating vendor dispute resolutions in conjunction with the Vendor Management team. Provides ownership of auditing the invoice general ledger coding to ensure proper account assignment and forecasting alignment. A strong understanding of the overall invoice and financial data flow processes is required, as well as basic understanding of Accounting and Finance principles.

Essential Functions:

  • Receipt, validation and general ledger coding of vendor invoices within Markview.

  • Route invoices to proper level of management for approval and match to financial budget.

  • Prepare and report monthly labor reports to vendors. Act as lead point of contact for vendor reported discrepancies and resolution of such discrepancies.

  • Act as primary point of contact for operational and vendor inquiries related to processed and pending financial spend, including weekly outstanding invoice reporting.

  • Provide training and guidance to the operational team for processing of invoices and other financial expenditures.

  • Work with Accounting to reconcile outstanding accruals and resolve invoice coding issues, including preparation of reclass journal entries.

  • Coordinate the updating of financial forecasts based on outstanding vendor payables and pending requisition orders.

  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve department processes and reporting to align with growing business support and financial reporting needs.

  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as requested by department head.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree preferred

  • 2+ years of experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast paced analytical environment with minimal supervision.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required.

  • Working knowledge of Oracle R12 and Markview preferred

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout CCL facilities.

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

This position is classified as "in-office." As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida from Tuesday through Thursday. Employees may work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Some positions may require additional in-office time each week and final schedule is determined by your leader. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
