We’re looking for an amazing Senior Manager, Software Development to fill this role, reporting to either our Miami or Seattle Office location. You’ll be responsible for the overall technical management of the application portfolio/roadmap for the business operations team at Holland America and Seabourn.

The Senior Manager plays a critical role in driving the roadmap of all internally developed business operations applications team and ensuring the delivery of innovative and high-quality solutions. This individual continually develops and defines modern application delivery processes, will create and monitors standards, and metrics for application development, and leads project delivery through agile best practices and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for establishing and implementing business application direction - application architecture, design & development patterns, platforms, tools, frame works, and development languages in alignment with company goals and priorities.

  • Define, build, and evolve processes that drive accountability within the team, where people assume and take responsibility for actions and decisions.

  • Responsible for executing on our product roadmap using agile practices and champion the culture, processes, and tools required to maintain a frictionless high quality development environment.

  • Driving technical decisions through architectural/technical reviews, design reviews, code reviews, post-mortems, and detailed software specifications

  • Responsible for defining, implementing, and enforcing best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, branching strategies, code quality, secure coding, unit testing and highly scalable application.

  • Responsible for delivering products while managing the health of the code base through continuous refactoring and management of technical debt including issues related to product features, performance, speed, scale, security, and accessibility.

  • Manage multiple concurrent programs, projects, and development teams in an Agile environment

  • Responsible to build strong, highly effective teams you can trust, delegate decisions and tasks to others in your organization. Recognize the high and low performers on the team and coach individuals for performance at both ends of the spectrum.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, business administration or related work experience in business administration, marketing, or a related field

  • 8+ years’ experience as a technical leader specifically building and supporting internally built applications.

  • 8+ Years experience hands on knowledge of Domino, APEX, SQL, MS Access / Azure, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and related API integrations

  • 5+ Years of Web and API development

  • 5+ Years VB .Net, and MS Power Platform applications

  • 5+ years of experience managing a combination of both nearshore, offshore and onshore technical resources.

  • 7+ years of project delivery using Agile (Scrum & Kanban)

  • Proven track record of leading development projects and delivering whole products or product lines to market.

  • Extensive experience in developing, deploying, and integrating software solutions.

  • Proficiency in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics.

  • At least 5+ years prior technical work experience in a hospitality, travel or tourism related service industry (preferred)

  • Proven track record of on-time execution, bug free, secure code, and delivery of projects

  • Demonstrate professional passion and ability to motivate a team.

  • Clear written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to keep up with software industry trends and innovation.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills

  • Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities and timelines

  • Experiencing in Developing and hiring staff with the skills and talents required for front-end & backend roles within the Web Applications team.

  • Establish team mentorship and individual career development programs for team members by skill set.

  • Prior experience in leading/mentoring execution focused development teams

  • Base Salary Range: $133,100 to $179,700. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
