Carnival Cruise Line Sr. Financial Data Analyst in Miami, Florida

Job Description

As a Senior Financial Data Analyst within the Shipboard Financial Analytics group, you will lead efforts to enhance Carnival Cruise Line's financial and operational performance. This senior role involves providing advanced technical guidance, strategic analytical support, and leadership to shipboard financial and operational teams. You will spearhead the design, development, and implementation of sophisticated data warehousing and reporting solutions, primarily using Power BI and Tableau, to empower data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the development of complex financial data models, dashboards, and reports that support strategic initiatives and operational decisions.

  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data through rigorous validation processes and ongoing system maintenance.

  • Manage and oversee special projects and ad hoc analysis ensuring timely execution and alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Constantly self-improve, in addition to developing other members of the team and promote an environment of teamwork and high professional standards

  • Drive the continuous improvement of data management practices, including automation and process optimization, to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.

  • Cross-Functional Communication: Facilitate effective communication between finance and other departments, fostering collaboration and a comprehensive understanding of financial objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree

  • Discipline/Major: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Math, or related field required or a related discipline

  • Required Years and Area of Professional Experience: 5+ Critical Professional Related Technical/Computer Skills: Strong data visualization skills and experience with tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar software. Understanding of Office 365 capabilities.

  • Other Requirements: Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards.

  • Preferred Experience and Type: Preferred experience in cruise industry or hospitality focusing on operational and / or financial data analytics. Working knowledge of SAS, R or similar statistical software. Working knowledge of Power Automate or similar robotic process automation tools

  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to adapt easily to change in dynamic environment

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout CCL facilities.

Travel: No or very little travel likely

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

This position is classified as "in-office." As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida from Tuesday through Thursday. Employees may work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Some positions may require additional in-office time each week and final schedule is determined by your leader. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
