Description An up-and-coming firm has teamed up with Robert Half to find an efficient Staff Accountant to join their growing team. In the role of Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you'll have responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you'll be in communication with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, participating in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes. An involved position, you will be producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. The organization offering this multi-faceted long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity is based in the Miami, Florida region, and provides a terrific work environment where effort is rewarded.

What you get to do every single day

• Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

• Take part in various department-wide initiatives

• Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision

• Maintain monthly payment schedules

• Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

• Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner

• Partake in annual closing processes

• Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management Requirements

• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

• Knowledgeable of ERP systems

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

• Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Spreadsheet and database capabilities

• Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

• Adeptness in journal entries

• Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred

• General familiarity with month end closings

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Demonstrated knowledge of accruals

• General ledger experience

• Solid understanding of Financial Statement

• Bank reconciliations experience required

• Be detailed, flexible, and organized

• Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

• Recent and relevant accounting experience
