Job Description

How Will You Make an Impact?:

As a Lead Maintenance Technician at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our equipment is operating flawlessly. Your expertise and attention to detail will help us maintain world-class standards and achieve our mission of enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

A Day in the Life:

  • Perform preventative maintenance, installation, and general repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. You will also create and document clear processes for preventive maintenance to maintain 98% uptime.

  • Lead and direct a team of maintenance personnel, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.

  • As a safety team member, you will apply your expertise in building infrastructure to effectively respond to chemical spills and other emergencies involving chemicals. This will be done in close collaboration with our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team.

  • You will actively contribute to equipment purchases and process design/re-design, including writing equipment approval and routing procedures.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in the Maintenance field.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of CMMS database and understanding of its functionality.

  • Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment.

  • PLC programming skills are a plus.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.

  • Familiarity with water filtration units and pumps.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift and/or exert up to 50 lbs.

  • Comfortable working in various positions such as bending, kneeling, sitting, and standing.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
