YASKAWA AMERICA, INC. Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician in Miamisburg, Ohio

SUMMARY

Perform regularly scheduled and non-scheduled work to make Yaskawa Motoman facilities safe, comfortable and attractive places in which to work, conducive to high productivity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Troubleshoot HVAC and Energy Management system problems and repair same and/or coordinate repairs with contractor. 
  • Program and set-up energy management system for maximum comfort & efficiency; monitor energy use. 
  • Assist with air conditioning installations & controls.
  • Install and maintain lighting & controls. 
  • Work with blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Maintain, repair & install air compressor systems & controls.
  • Repair 110 and 208/220 volt power and perform installations repair 480 volt power and 277 volt lighting power and perform installations.
  • Inventory and install systems furniture; draw proposed layouts for systems furniture components; help with moves.
  • Repair and maintain toilets, faucets, drains, drinking fountains and other plumbing.
  • Perform wall and door repairs; paint walls; perform maintenance/repairs to exterior facility elements as required.
  • Perform and document regular preventative maintenance to assure equipment and systems are operating properly.
  • Work as assigned on all HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Roofing, Blacktop, Landscape, Carpet, Janitorial, Painting, Carpentry, and coordinate work with contractors.
  • Drive and operate a forklift for facilities related duties; operate other lifts, hoists and cranes as necessary for facilities related duties.  Have knowledge of 60 ft all terrain boom lifts.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

State approved Apprenticeship or Journeyman or High school diploma / general education degree (GED) plus four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Read blueprints and complex wiring diagrams. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

 

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as  proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Understanding of psychometric chart and able to calculate enthalpy. Understanding of refrigerant temperature-pressure chart and steam heat-content chart.

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

HVAC controls and/or software training certification or certification or licensing in other Facilities related discipline such as Stationary Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, preferred, due to multifaceted nature of the work required.  Minimum required - certificate from a recognized technical school with training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing disciplines.&nbs
