Verdantas is a national consulting group seeking a talented Health and Safety Compliance Specialist III to join our team in the Middletown, CT office.

Join a dynamic team working on a variety of challenging national environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance projects. Assist with environmental and safety air emissions permitting and program development and ongoing EHS compliance needs for industrial, manufacturing, institutional, federal, and municipal clients. We are looking for a candidate with a strong work ethic, excellent client service skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently working on a diverse set of projects

  • Must be able to write effectively and articulate outcomes to clients and team members

  • Providing on-site support, as needed, to clients

  • Collecting information from regulatory agencies when requested

  • Developing and conducting client training

  • Proposal writing when requested

  • Assisting with evaluating regulatory compliance of facilities

  • Performing regulatory applicability evaluations

  • Interpreting and applying EHS regulations

  • Developing EHS programs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field

  • 4-6 years of environmental health and safety experience, consulting experience preferred

  • OSHA compliance reporting and program development support

  • Health and safety auditing

  • EHS regulatory interpretation

  • Training presentation development

  • Experience with federal and state workers’ safety regulations

  • Proficient in MS Office suite and environmental reporting software

  • Must have a personal vehicle for independent transportation to work sites when required

  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
