  • Advanced Coating Technologies (ACT) is a fast-paced, high-volume organization that delivers a complex and technically superior product.

  • As the Center of Excellence for Turbine Airfoils, ACT has a very strong but challenging future. We are focused on implementing cutting edge manufacturing technology to produce the latest in Turbine Airfoil coatings for new engine programs like Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) and Next Generation Part Family (NGPF) while continuing to retain competitive advantage.

What You Will Do:

  • Ensure material is delivered on-time, with flawless quality and at cost. Eliminate customer escapes identifying non-conformance drivers and implementing mistake proof solutions.

  • Quality Engineers are integral to the continued success of Advanced Coating Technologies as the leaders of problem resolution teams related to part manufacture, the drivers of process improvement and educators of technical requirements.

  • Quality Engineers act as liaisons between ACT, program office and internal customer when discussing quality concerns and comply with FAA standards, applicable laws, and company policies.

  • Improve internal and external manufacturing, inspection, and test processes to reduce and prevent defects and prevent quality escapes to our customers.

  • Control quality, productivity, and process flow to meet MRP requirements while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

What You Will Learn :

  • Continually improve manufacturing processes and performance, drive scrap, rework, and repair dollars to the lowest achievable levels.

  • Provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of project quality plans to obtain annual reduction goals in Scrap, Rework and Repair (SRR) and escapes to flight operations.

  • Participate in Problem Resolution and DAISE Teams comprised of manufacturing, product and quality engineering and operations support functions.

  • Implement immediate risk containment measures and systemic mistake proof solutions to improve quality, cost, and delivery performance at selected suppliers.

  • Develop and deliver technical training to the inspection and operations teams Support the development of productivity initiatives to improve product acceptance methodology.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field required and 5 years of prior work experience in quality, test or inspection.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • RRCA and manufacturing shop experience.

  • CQE Experience.

  • Strong understanding of statistics.

  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles (e.g. lean manufacturing, CORE, QCPC).

This role is:Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
