Position Summary

As a Manufacturing Operator I at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will have a vital role in maintaining the seamless production of our products. You will work independently or with other technicians to carry out filling, labeling, and packaging tasks. Your adherence to GMP and ISO 13485 guidelines, along with our company SOPs, will be critical for upholding the utmost quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Comprehend and complete production paperwork, including product reconciliation, label reconciliation, labor sheets, product fill checks, torque checks, etc.

  • Clean and sanitize work areas, machines, glassware, or equipment as needed or directed

  • Operate and monitor production equipment, making necessary adjustments for smooth operations and optimal quality

  • Interface and communicate effectively with work groups to ensure task and project completion

  • Work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • One year of related experience and/or training in manufacturing

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands and talk

  • Ability to sit for extended periods depending on the nature of the work

  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

  • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus

  • Frequently exposed to strong and sometimes disagreeable odors and occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals

  • Ability to occasionally work near moving mechanical parts

  • Ability to work in a moderate noise level

  • Safety shoes are required

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Strong mathematical skills

  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of GMP, FDA, and ISO Regulations for diagnostics manufacturing

  • Knowledge of handling hazardous materials and OSHA safety compliance
