Responsibilities

Also, you can be responsible for each of the following tasks:

  • Operating process related equipment and plant process control systems in a safe environmentally responsible manner

  • Optimizing plant performance by monitoring process equipment and conditions using information systems including; process levels, temperatures, pressures and flow rates

  • Collecting and reporting plant measurements related to performance, asset utilization, quality, costs yields, environmental health and safety (EH&S), production rates, etc.

  • Performing field checks, adjusting control systems and manually operated equipment based on process and lab data

  • Determining root causes of deviations in process. product or equipment performance through use of troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis

  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and implements Improvements when appropriate

  • Analyzing laboratory and sampling results to maintain process and quality standards as well as learning a variety of chemical processes and develop ideas to improve them

  • Responsible for performing process equipment troubleshooting, routine equipment repairs, improvements and preventative maintenance

  • Performing daily tasks efficiently using the appropriate computer tools and software

  • Ensuring operational activities and process performance are aligned with plant and business goals

  • Completing individual duties with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship

  • Operates and field checks process equipment (including fork trucks)

Qualifications

This role requires the candidate to meet one of the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant operating experience, 4 years in a chemical operator/processing role is preferred

  • Chemical Process Fast Start certificate obtained from Delta College

  • Associate's degree in Chemical Process or Chemical Technology

  • 4+ years military experience in a technical field (i.e. mechanical, electronic or technology based training)

Your physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to a respirator

  • Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting, working in tight or closed-in spaces, climb stairs/ladders and working at heights as well as standing or walking for extended periods of time

  • Essential functions of this position may require, among other things, that the employee use particular types of equipment -- such as on-site safety equipment that has specific weight limitations whereby the individual’s own weight, plus the weight of tools and other items and materials, must not exceed a certain threshold. (For example, some types of safety equipment may be rated for a maximum weight limit of 300 pounds total.) In the event a job offer for this position were (conditionally) extended and provides for a pre-employment medical examination, the individual will be appropriately evaluated in regard to their ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Other Required Qualifications Include:

  • Willing and able to work all applicable shifts on a rotating basis (including weekends) and work overtime when needed

  • Successfully complete a background check and pass a drug screen if job offer is received and accepted

  • Must have a current, valid US driver’s license

  • Must be 18 years old or older

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

  • The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed and the ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position.
