Day and Zimmermann Journeyman Lineman in Milan, Tennessee

Journeyman Linemen have completed a formal apprenticeship program and hold a Journeyman Lineman license in their state. They typically work on both distribution and transmission lines and possess a high level of expertise in electrical power systems. Journeyman Linemen often supervise other linemen and are responsible for complex installations, repairs, and maintenance of power systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation and Maintenance:

Install and maintain electrical power systems, including poles, transformers, and transmission lines.

Inspection and Repair:

Inspect power lines and equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform necessary repairs to prevent outages.

Climbing and Working at Heights:

Climb poles and work at significant heights to repair or install power lines.

Emergency Response:

Respond to emergencies such as power outages and perform repairs efficiently.

Safety Compliance:

Follow strict safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA regulations.

Communication:

Coordinate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and report progress or issues.

Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Knowledge:

In-depth understanding of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and building codes.

Physical Fitness:

Ability to work in various weather conditions, climb poles, and lift heavy equipment.

Problem-Solving:Strong troubleshooting skills to quickly identify and resolve electrical issues.
